The Golan Heights and the Galilee are both incredible wine regions. Some of the large scale wineries from these areas have certainly made a name for themselves both in Israel and around the world. There are however, dozens of excellent boutique wineries scattered throughout the Golan and Galilee. A day trip from Tel Aviv requires a 3 hour drive each way allowing only a short time for touring, tasting wine and meeting the magnificent wine makers of the region. In recent years, internal tourism has been on the rise in northern Israel. Luxurious bed and breakfast cabins overlooking beautiful vistas are prevalent in quite a few villages in both the Upper Galilee and the Golan; several new hotels can certainly accommodate larger groups as well.
